About Victoria Miro
Victoria Miro has been instrumental in nurturing the careers of some of the most significant contemporary artists of our time, while consistently providing long-term representation for an extensive and diverse international cohort of artists. Over the past four decades, the gallery has distinguished itself as a leading voice in the contemporary art world, presenting groundbreaking and original exhibitions that encompass a wide range of media and genres. Victoria Miro first opened her gallery in Cork Street, Mayfair, in 1985 and currently represents 43 artists and artist estates. In 2000 Victoria Miro relocated to its current premises, a sensitively converted, former furniture factory in North London. In October 2006 the gallery expanded further by opening a second exhibition and viewing space in an adjoining building uniquely connected by a waterside sculpture garden. Victoria Miro remains one of London’s largest commercial gallery spaces. In 2017, the gallery expanded its international footprint with the opening of a third location in Venice where, alongside a dynamic exhibition programme, the gallery hosts an ongoing series of artists residencies in its Venice studio. Beyond the gallery walls, audiences can connect at any time globally through our hybrid interactive Miro Presents programme. Advancing use of new technologies, the gallery is at the forefront in pioneering new ways of presenting and experiencing art, always with the creative ambitions of artists as its guiding principle. Victoria Miro, along with partners Glenn Scott Wright and Oliver Miro, remains dedicated to fostering long-standing relationships with the gallery’s acclaimed artists and artist estates, while showcasing new voices from around the globe.
